□ Personality: Eagle will be the first one to tell you how great he is ('Only I ever beat me. And I never do.'). He has a rather large ego. Eagle fully believes that he is the best, and there's absolutely no question about it. At least in his mind. He believes his own hype, and thinks he's one of the best out there. His country, Green Earth, considers him a war hero, especially in the second war. The whole country depends on him, and he doesn't plan to let them down. They have a lot of faith in him, and he has to work hard for it. He has the utmost pride in his country; he makes it a priority to lead them all to victory in each and every battle.
His life isn't just his ego, however. He can be a jerk as well, one with a hard shell on the outside. In the first game, he plays around ('I think I'll entertain them for a while.') with the main character/commanding officer, Andy, in their first battle, and after that, he goes about accusing him of things that a clone did. And then he pretty much gets into a shouting war with Jess (a fellow Green Earth CO and the one who riles him up in the worst way without even trying) the moment she comes back around to Green Earth and without Drake (another Green Earth CO, Eagle's closest friend and the middle man between the two of them), absolutely nothing would get done due to all of the yelling, and eventually get into a nasty fight.
He has the confidence to lead groups of people to victory and he'll make that clear. However, despite how boastful he is, he has plenty of downfalls. The one thing Eagle regrets the most is letting Hawke, an opposing enemy CO, ransack his country. Hawke destroyed almost everything there, and he's never forgiven the man for his actions. He's also never forgiven himself for letting that happen. The second war caused a change in him, and he became a little bit more humble from the experience
He’s shown to be a bit new to being a leader. Despite his ego for his skills, he doesn’t seem to plan the best. He’s also shown to occasionally rely on his soldiers and other people for advice on where to proceed next. The biggest example of this would be his decision whether or not he should retreat to save his troops, or, to continue on to drive Black Hole further out. His troops tell him what they must do. Despite this, his troops follow him because he's so charismatic and his skills make up for what he lacks in instinct. By the time the third game rolls around, his leadership has gotten a lot better. He's always improving. Other people know better, and he doesn’t seem to address this (but he definitely does get better eventually). He doesn't believe the world revolves around him (although if he heard it plenty, it would only be a matter of time before he did).
Underneath all of this is a good guy that just takes an exceedingly long time to show. His people obviously love him and what he does, and eventually, after he sorts everything out with Andy, they become good friends (and eventually friendly rivals too). Despite his horrible past with Hawke, he can push past their bad blood and put his feelings aside long enough to work with him for save his country and the world from a common enemy. He’s still not a fan of Hawke, but at the very least his pride doesn’t prevent him from doing what he feels is right.
In relation to the two main women in his life, he either argues with them, (in the case of Jess), or is kind, passionate, and caring towards, (in this case being Sami, an Orange Star CO who Eagle is shown to have a bit of a crush on). Sami is the first one to scold him for his actions, and he actually apologizes to her. He's rather chivalristic, coming to her rescue and saying cheesy lines (In their last battle, when they start out the battle; "I want you to promise me something, Sami. Promise that if we both return from this battle alive..." with her replying "Oh no you don't! Stop it right there! If two people make a promise like that, one of them is going to end up dead! You might as well tell me that you're two days away from retirement! Save the promises for later, OK? We'll talk when we get back in one piece." ) , and she is the one who has to snap him back to reality, which he occasionally seems to drift out of.
Eagle is the jerk with a heart of gold trope personified. He’s a really good guy with a lot of pride for his country.
□ Age: Mid 20s
□ Gender: Male
□ Appearance: Eagle is a relatively tall man, with slicked back black hair with white streaks in it. He wears pilot jackets, big pants, and large boots, with a pair of lucky goggles on his head.
□ Abilities/Powers: Eagle has a set of three ‘magical’ abilities, as part of him being a Commanding Officer in Advance Wars.
- Day to Day abilities: These are abilities that happen on a daily basis, automatically to all units it affects. For Eagle, all of his air units have 120% power, while his ships have only 80% attack power. As well, his planes use 2 units less of fuel per day.
- CO Power: After a period of battling, a Commanding Officer using their CO Power, which is to give them a boost for one day only. For Eagle, all non-infantry units can move a second time but their power is weaker (Air at 70%, Land at 60%, Navel at 55%).
- Super CO Power: If a Commanding Officer doesn’t use their CO power and allows it to keep building, they will eventually reach a Super CO Power. Eagle's allows all his non-infantry units to move with a 10% power boost rather than a lost.
These previous abilities can only be used with an army under his command. If he doesn’t have that, these abilities are useless.
Along with those, he's a pilot and can fly all sorts of planes.
